Adam Gray is a California Democratic congressman representing the 13th District's Central Valley, former state assemblyman elected in 2024 rematch.
Adam C. Gray represents California's 13th Congressional District, a Central Valley district centered on Merced, as a Democrat sworn in January 2025 after narrowly defeating Republican incumbent John Duarte in a rematch of the closest congressional race in the 2022 election cycle. A Merced native and UC Berkeley graduate, Gray served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2022 representing a Central Valley district, where he chaired the Governmental Organization Committee and focused on water policy, veterans, and community college advancement. In the 119th Congress, Gray serves on the House Committee on Agriculture with subcommittee assignments on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development; Forestry and Horticulture; and Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry. He also sits on the House Committee on Natural Resources. As a member of the centrist Blue Dog Coalition, to which he was named whip, Gray is positioned to advance bipartisan solutions. His legislative agenda centers on Central Valley water infrastructure, agricultural support, community development, and pragmatic problem-solving in a competitive swing district facing demographic and economic challenges.
