Biography

Andrew Clyde is a Georgia Republican, Navy veteran, and gun-rights advocate serving his third House term from North Georgia mountains.

Andrew Stewart Clyde represents Georgia's 9th Congressional District, serving since 2021 and holding his third term. A University of Florida and Georgia State University graduate, Clyde served as a U.S. Navy supply corps officer for twenty-eight years, including three combat deployments to Iraq and Kuwait. After military service, he founded and owns Clyde Armory, a firearms retail business in Athens. He earned a master's degree in corporate finance and entrepreneurship from the University of Georgia. Clyde represents a North Georgia mountain district including Gainesville and parts of the Blue Ridge foothills. A member of the House Freedom Caucus, he sits on the House Appropriations Committee and is known for advocating gun rights and opposing pandemic-era mandates. He focuses on Second Amendment protections, border security, veterans' issues, and conservative fiscal restraint.
