Andrew Garbarino is a Long Island Republican who became Homeland Security Committee chair in July 2025 after serving on Financial Services and Ethics.
Andrew R. Garbarino represents New York's 2nd Congressional District covering Long Island's South Shore in Suffolk County including Babylon and Islip. A George Washington and Hofstra Law School graduate who practiced law and served eight years in the New York State Assembly, Garbarino brings legislative experience to his third congressional term. In the 119th Congress, Garbarino was reappointed as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection, and in July 2025 became the full Committee Chairman following a predecessor's resignation. He also serves on the Financial Services Committee as vice chair of the Capital Markets Subcommittee and on the House Ethics Committee. Garbarino focuses on cybersecurity threats, financial services regulation, veterans issues, and the SALT deduction cap that significantly impacts his high-tax Long Island district.
