Stephen Brett Guthrie is the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 2nd Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2008 and serving his ninth term. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Guthrie served as a U.S. Army field artillery officer in the 101st Airborne and earned an MBA from Yale. He ran his family's automotive parts business in Bowling Green and served in the Kentucky State Senate before entering Congress. In the 119th Congress, he chairs the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees healthcare, telecommunications, energy, and environmental policy. He focuses on these areas alongside support for Fort Knox military installations and automotive manufacturing.
