Bruce Eugene Westerman is the U.S. representative for Arkansas's 4th Congressional District and chairs the House Natural Resources Committee in the 119th Congress, the panel with jurisdiction over public lands, water rights, tribal affairs, and wildlife. A Hot Springs native trained as a forester with degrees from the University of Arkansas and a master's from Yale, Westerman is the only licensed forester currently serving in Congress, giving him unique expertise on forest management and ecological issues. He worked as a licensed forester and engineer in the timber industry and served as majority leader of the Arkansas House of Representatives before his 2014 election to Congress.
