Clay Higgins (R-LA-3) is a former law enforcement officer and conservative media personality, serving his fifth term in Congress.
Glen Clay Higgins is the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 3rd Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2016 and serving his fifth term. An Army veteran and longtime Louisiana law enforcement officer, Higgins served as a St. Landry Parish deputy and Lafayette Parish sheriff's captain and gained regional recognition through direct-to-camera 'Crime Stoppers' videos. He represents southwest Louisiana's Acadiana region including Lafayette, Lake Charles, and bayou communities. In the 119th Congress, he chairs the House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement and serves on the Armed Services and Homeland Security committees. He focuses on border security, law enforcement, energy production, and hurricane recovery and resilience.
