Ed Case is a Hawaii Democrat, Blue Dog member, and lawyer serving his fifth House term from urban Honolulu since 2018.
Edward Espenett Case represents Hawaii's 1st Congressional District, serving since 2019 and holding his fifth House term in urban Honolulu. A Williams College and University of California, Hastings College of the Law graduate, Case practiced law in Honolulu and served in the Hawaii House of Representatives before Congress. He is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, shaping federal spending on Pacific and Indo-Pacific priorities. Case's legislative focus includes Pacific policy, military installations in Hawaii including strategic defense assets, climate and ocean conservation, and fiscal responsibility. In 2025, Case faced primary challenges from state lawmakers, including State Senator Jarrett Keohokalole and State Representative Della Au Bellati. He is running for reelection in the August 8, 2026 Democratic primary.
