Gil Cisneros is a Democratic U.S. Representative from California's 31st District, a Navy veteran and former Pentagon official serving on Armed Services and Small Business in the 119th Congress.
Gilbert Ray Cisneros Jr. is the U.S. Representative for California's 31st Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2018 in a different Orange County district, defeated in 2020, and returned to Congress in 2024 representing a San Gabriel Valley district in the 119th Congress. A graduate of George Washington University and Regent University, Cisneros served eleven years as a U.S. Navy supply corps officer. After winning a multimillion-dollar Mega Millions lottery prize in 2010, he and his wife established a family foundation focused on education. He served in the Biden administration as under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness, serving as the military's chief inclusion and diversity officer before returning to the House. In the 119th Congress he serves on the Armed Services Committee with assignments to the Subcommittees on Military Personnel and Intelligence and Special Operations, and on the Small Business Committee, focusing on veterans, defense, education, and Latino community issues.
