Gus Bilirakis is a Republican U.S. Representative from Florida's 12th District, a senior Energy and Commerce Committee member serving Florida's Nature Coast.
Gus Michael Bilirakis is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 12th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2006 serving his tenth term representing a west-central Florida district covering much of Pasco and northern Pinellas counties. Son of former Representative Michael Bilirakis, he graduated from the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law and practiced as an attorney before serving in the Florida House of Representatives. In the 119th Congress, Bilirakis serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade and is a member of the Health and Communications and Technology subcommittees of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He is also an active member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee and the Congressional Hellenic Caucus. His legislative priorities include veterans' services, healthcare quality, consumer protection, and U.S.-Greece and U.S.-Cyprus relations.
