Jim Himes is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Connecticut's 4th District, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee and a former Goldman Sachs investment banker.
James Andres Himes is the U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 4th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2008 serving his ninth term representing a Fairfield County district including Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport. Born to American parents in Lima, Peru, Himes graduated from Harvard University and received a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford. He worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and later at a nonprofit focused on expanding affordable housing before entering Congress. In the 119th Congress, Himes serves as Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, a position he has held since 2023, and sits on the Financial Services Committee. He focuses on national security, financial regulation, and bipartisan problem-solving to address emerging threats and strengthen American competitiveness.
