Jimmy Patronis is a Republican U.S. Representative from Florida's 1st District, the former Florida chief financial officer elected in a 2025 special election representing the Panhandle.
Jimmy Patronis is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 1st Congressional District, a Republican first elected in a 2025 special election to succeed Matt Gaetz. A Panama City native and third-generation owner of Capt. Anderson's seafood restaurant, Patronis served three terms in the Florida House of Representatives before his appointment as Florida's chief financial officer by Governor Rick Scott in 2017, a statewide elected position he won in his own right in 2018 and 2022. As CFO, he oversaw state finances, insurance regulation, and the state fire marshal office. Patronis won the April 2025 special election with 57% of the vote and was sworn in on April 2, 2025. He represents the westernmost Florida Panhandle, including Pensacola, Panama City, and surrounding areas. In Congress, his focus includes the Gulf Coast military presence, hurricane recovery, property insurance reform, and conservative economic policy.
