United States Senator from UT

John Curtis is the junior U.S. Senator from Utah, newly elected in 2024 after serving as a congressman and Provo mayor.
John R. Curtis, Utah's junior senator since January 2025, brings entrepreneurial experience and climate pragmatism to the chamber. A Utah native and Brigham Young University graduate who served as a Mormon missionary in Taiwan, Curtis spent decades as a small-business owner and executive in the outdoor-products industry before entering public service. He served as mayor of Provo from 2010 to 2019, leading a rapidly growing Utah city, then won a 2017 special election to the U.S. House for Utah's 3rd District, serving until his Senate election. In the House, Curtis founded and led the Conservative Climate Caucus, a group of Republicans advocating for market-oriented climate solutions. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the Energy and Natural Resources, Finance, and Indian Affairs committees. Curtis has emerged as a leading Republican voice for pragmatic energy and climate policy, emphasizing public lands management, renewable energy development, and conservative market-based approaches to environmental challenges.
