John Rose is a Republican U.S. Representative from Tennessee's 6th District, sixth-generation farmer, and 2026 gubernatorial candidate.
John William Rose represents Tennessee's 6th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2018 serving his fourth term covering north-central and northeast Tennessee including Cookeville, Lebanon, and the Upper Cumberland region. A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a master's from Purdue University and law degree from Vanderbilt, Rose is a sixth-generation farmer and businessman who served as Tennessee's Commissioner of Agriculture. In the 119th Congress, he serves on Agriculture (Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development; Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology; and General Farm Commodities subcommittees) and Financial Services (Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence; and Financial Institutions subcommittees). He announced his candidacy for Governor of Tennessee on March 20, 2025. He focuses on agriculture, fiscal conservatism, and rural development.
