Jonathan Luther Jackson represents Illinois's 1st Congressional District, serving since 2023 and holding his second term covering Chicago's South Side and south and southwest suburbs. Son of civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson and brother of former Representative Jesse Jackson Jr., Jackson graduated from North Carolina A&T State University and earned an M.B.A. from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. He worked as a businessman and community activist with the Rainbow PUSH Coalition before entering Congress. In the 119th Congress, he sits on the House Foreign Affairs and Agriculture committees, focusing on civil rights, U.S.-Africa diplomatic policy, economic opportunity, and public safety. Jackson won the Democratic primary in March 2026, securing his path to a second term.
