Joseph David Morelle, U.S. Representative for New York's 25th Congressional District, is a Democrat who won a special election in November 2018 and is serving his fourth full term representing Rochester and Monroe County. A State University of New York at Geneseo graduate who served more than three decades in the New York State Assembly, including as majority leader, before his congressional election, Morelle brings extensive legislative experience to his congressional role. In the 119th Congress, he serves as Ranking Member of the House Administration Committee and member of the Rules Committee, focusing on elections, democracy reform, and upstate New York economic development. Morelle was honored with the inaugural MSSNY Legislative Champion Award in April 2026 for his healthcare advocacy, continuing his commitment to constituent services and responsible governance.
