Keith Self is a Republican from Texas's 3rd District, a retired Army Special Forces colonel and former Collin County judge serving in his second term.
Keith Alan Self is the U.S. Representative for Texas's3rd Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2022 serving his second term. Born in 1953 and educated at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in engineering in 1975, Self served 24 years as a U.S. Army officer including with Special Forces and Army Rangers. He was deployed to Qatar, Egypt, Germany, Afghanistan, and Belgium, and was recalled to active duty from 2002 to 2003, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He served three terms as Collin County Judge from 2007 to 2018, the county's top executive position. His congressional district covers Collin County in the northeastern Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs. Self serves on the House Foreign Affairs and Homeland Security committees, focusing on national security, border security, fiscal responsibility, and defense of American interests.
