Biography

Kevin Hern is a Republican U.S. Representative from Oklahoma's 1st District and House Republican Policy Committee chair.

Kevin Ray Hern is the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma's 1st Congressional District, a Republican who won a special election in 2018 and is serving his fourth full term representing Tulsa and surrounding northeastern Oklahoma. A graduate of Arkansas Tech University and University of Arkansas, Hern built a business career as a McDonald's franchisee operating numerous restaurants across Oklahoma and Kansas. He served as chair of the Republican Study Committee during the 118th Congress and was elected House Republican Policy Committee Chair in November 2024, making him a key party leader. He sits on the House Ways and Means Committee focusing on tax policy and small business.
