Laura Friedman is a Democratic U.S. Representative from California's 30th District, a former film producer and state legislator representing Glendale and the Los Angeles foothills in the 119th Congress.
Laura Friedman is the U.S. Representative for California's 30th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2024 and currently serving her first term in the 119th Congress representing a Los Angeles County district including Glendale, Burbank, the eastern San Fernando Valley, and parts of foothill communities. A graduate of Boston University, Friedman worked for more than two decades as a film and television producer in Hollywood, served on the Glendale City Council and as mayor of Glendale from 2011-2012, and was elected to the California State Assembly in 2016, where she chaired the Transportation Committee and later the Natural Resources Committee. In the 119th Congress she serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, focusing on climate, housing, water, the entertainment industry, and the rights of Armenian Americans.
