U.S. Representative from GA, District 6

Lucy McBath is a Georgia Democrat and gun-safety advocate whose son's 2012 murder transformed her into a prominent crime-prevention voice in Congress.
Lucia Kay McBath represents Georgia's 6th Congressional District, serving in her fourth term after election in 2018. A former Delta Air Lines flight attendant, McBath became a nationally prominent gun-violence-prevention activist after her seventeen-year-old son Jordan Davis was shot and killed in 2012 over a loud music dispute. She worked as a spokeswoman for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, eventually joining the Mothers of the Movement and speaking at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. A Virginia State University graduate with degrees in political science and English, McBath flipped a longtime Republican suburban seat covering parts of Cobb, Fulton, and DeKalb counties. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the House Judiciary and Education and Workforce committees, focusing on gun safety, reproductive rights, healthcare, and civil rights for Black mothers and families.
