Mariannette Miller-Meeks is an Iowa Republican, physician, and Army veteran serving her third House term from southeast Iowa.
Mariannette Jane Miller-Meeks represents Iowa's 1st Congressional District, serving since 2021 and holding her third term. A U.S. Army ophthalmologist and veteran who served nearly twenty-five years on active duty and in the reserves, Miller-Meeks trained in ophthalmology, practiced medicine in Ottumwa, and served as director of the Iowa Department of Public Health and in the Iowa State Senate before winning her House seat by just six votes in 2020. She represents a southeast Iowa district including Davenport, Iowa City, and Burlington. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the House Energy and Commerce and Veterans' Affairs committees, focusing on healthcare, veterans' issues, agriculture, and Mississippi River flood control. In 2024, she won reelection by 799 votes in a competitive race. In early 2025, Miller-Meeks raised over one million dollars, the most of any House incumbent that quarter.
