Mark Messmer (R-IN-8) is a former Indiana state Senate majority leader and mechanical contracting business owner first elected in 2024.
Mark B. Messmer is the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 8th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2024 and serving his first term. A lifelong resident of Jasper, Messmer is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology who ran a family mechanical contracting business. He served in the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana State Senate, rising to Senate majority floor leader. He succeeded Larry Bucshon in the House seat representing southwestern Indiana, including Evansville and Terre Haute. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the Agriculture Committee, and the Education and Workforce Committee, concentrating on rural development, energy production, agriculture, and fiscal conservatism.
