United States Senator from TN


Marsha Blackburn is the senior U.S. Senator from Tennessee, the first woman elected to that office, and was re-elected in 2024.
Marsha Wedgeworth Blackburn, Tennessee's senior senator since 2019, made history as the state's first female senator. A Laurel, Mississippi, native who graduated from Mississippi State University, Blackburn began her career in sales and marketing for a publishing company and directed the Tennessee Film, Entertainment, and Music Commission. She served in the Tennessee State Senate before winning election to the U.S. House in 2002, representing Tennessee's 7th District for eight consecutive terms. Elected to the Senate in 2018 by defeating Bob Corker and re-elected in 2024, she has become a prominent voice on technology regulation, rural infrastructure, and constitutional issues. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the Judiciary, Commerce, Armed Services, Finance, and Veterans' Affairs committees. Blackburn has focused particularly on child online safety initiatives, rural broadband expansion, health-care pricing transparency, and Second Amendment protections for Tennessee constituents.
