Pro bono legal counsel focused on voting rights and democracy reform. Serves on Judiciary and Rules committees.

Mary Gay Scanlon is Pennsylvania's 5th District representative, a Democrat who won a November 2018 special election and is currently in her fourth full term. A graduate of Colgate University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Scanlon worked for decades as pro bono counsel at a major law firm and served on her local school board before entering Congress. She represents Delaware County and portions of Philadelphia and Montgomery counties in suburban Philadelphia, an area covering roughly 700,000 residents. In the 119th Congress, Scanlon serves as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and sits on the Rules Committee, focusing on voting rights protection, democracy reform, and judicial oversight of constitutional issues.
