Biography

Republican U.S. Representative from Texas's 27th District since 2018; House Freedom Caucus member serving on Appropriations and Oversight.

Michael Jonathan Cloud is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 27th Congressional District, a Republican who won a June 2018 special election and is serving his fourth full term. A graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, Cloud worked in business and served as chair of the Victoria County Republican Party before his congressional election. He represents a district covering the central Texas Gulf Coast including Victoria and portions of Corpus Christi. A member of the House Freedom Caucus, Cloud sits on the Appropriations and Oversight committees and serves on the new House Department of Government Efficiency Committee. He focuses on fiscal conservatism, energy, and border security. Cloud was renominated in the 2024 primary and serves until January 3, 2027.
