Mike Bost represents Illinois's 12th District as a Republican, chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, Marine Corps veteran, and advocate for veterans' healthcare and rural infrastructure.
Michael Joseph Bost is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 12th Congressional District, serving his sixth term since 2015. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former firefighter and small-business owner, he graduated from a local community college and served two decades in the Illinois House of Representatives. As chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee in the 119th Congress, Bost leads bipartisan efforts to expand veterans' healthcare access and benefits, enhance veterans' education and employment support, and modernize VA operations. He also serves on the Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure committees, focusing on agricultural support, rural economic development, and Mississippi and Ohio river infrastructure.
