Michael Robert Carey is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 15th Congressional District, a Republican who won a special election in November 2021 to succeed Steve Stivers, who resigned. A U.S. Army National Guard veteran who worked as a coal industry executive and served as president of the Ohio Coal Association, Carey brought energy sector expertise to Congress. He represents a district covering Columbus's southern and western suburbs stretching into rural south-central Ohio.
