Mike Haridopolos is a Republican U.S. Representative from Florida's 8th District, a former Florida Senate president representing the Space Coast and Kennedy Space Center.
Michael Haridopolos is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 8th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2024 serving his first term representing Florida's Space Coast, including Brevard and Indian River counties and parts of Orange County. A graduate of Stetson University and the University of Arkansas, Haridopolos taught American government at the community college level and served in both chambers of the Florida Legislature, including as president of the Florida Senate from 2010 to 2012. He succeeded retiring representative Bill Posey. In the 119th Congress, Haridopolos gained significant prominence as Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics and serves on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Financial Services Committee. His district encompasses NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Space Force Base, making space policy and Kennedy's mission central to his legislative work. His priorities include space industry expansion, national defense, and coastal economic development.
