Mike Levin is a Democratic U.S. Representative from California's 49th District, an environmental attorney recognized as the 2024 Legislator of the Year by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Michael Alan Levin is the U.S. Representative for California's 49th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2018 and currently serving his fourth term. A graduate of Stanford and Duke Law School, Levin worked as an environmental attorney and clean-energy advocate before entering Congress. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where he holds seats on the Subcommittees on Energy and Water Development and Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies. Over thirty-two of his bills have been signed into law by presidents of both parties. In 2024, the Veterans of Foreign Wars named him Legislator of the Year in recognition of his tireless advocacy on behalf of veterans and their families. His legislative priorities include climate change mitigation, clean energy advancement, decommissioning the San Onofre nuclear plant, coastal protection, and expanded veterans services. Levin is a recognized Democratic leader on environmental policy and veterans affairs with a strong bipartisan record.
