Biography

Morgan McGarvey (D-KY-3) is a Kentucky state senator and attorney representing Louisville, serving his second term.

Morgan McGarvey is the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2022 and serving his second term. A graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Kentucky College of Law, McGarvey worked as an attorney and served in the Kentucky State Senate, including as Democratic floor leader, before succeeding John Yarmuth in Congress. He represents a Louisville-based district covering most of Jefferson County. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the House Small Business, Budget, and Veterans' Affairs committees, focusing on urban economic development, criminal justice reform, housing, and protecting Louisville's bourbon industry and healthcare sector.
