Nathaniel Moran is a Republican from Texas's 1st District, a lawyer and former Smith County judge serving in his second term representing east Texas.
Nathaniel Quentin Moran is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 1st Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2022 serving his second term. Born as a twin in 1974, Moran graduated from Baylor University with a degree in business, then earned an MBA and law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He practiced law and was elected Smith County Judge in 2016, serving as the county's top executive until his congressional election to succeed Louie Gohmert. His district covers all or part of 17 counties across east Texas including Tyler, Longview, and surrounding areas with nearly 767,000 residents. Moran serves on the Ways and Means Committee, the oldest and most powerful tax-writing committee, as well as Education and the Workforce, and Foreign Affairs committees, focusing on education, oil and gas, and foreign policy.
