Biography

Pete Aguilar is a Democratic U.S. Representative from California's 33rd District and chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the highest-ranking Latino in House Democratic leadership serving in the 119th Congress.

Pete Aguilar is the U.S. Representative for California's 33rd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2014 and currently serving his sixth term in the 119th Congress representing an Inland Empire district centered on Redlands and San Bernardino County. Born and raised in San Bernardino, Aguilar graduated from the University of Redlands and worked in government affairs for a hotel company before serving on the Redlands City Council and as mayor of Redlands. In the House he sits on the Appropriations Committee. In November 2024, he was re-elected chair of the House Democratic Caucus for the 119th Congress, running unopposed and continuing as the highest-ranking Latino in House Democratic leadership. His priorities include immigration reform, Inland Empire infrastructure, and democracy protection.
