Robert P. Bresnahan Jr. is Pennsylvania's 8th District representative, a Republican elected in 2024 after defeating Democratic incumbent Matt Cartwright. Bresnahan, from Luzerne County, ran his family's construction company, Kuharchik Construction, serving northeastern Pennsylvania communities. He represents a district covering northeastern Pennsylvania including Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and the Poconos. In the 119th Congress, Bresnahan serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as Vice Chair of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee and on the Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management subcommittee, plus Agriculture and Small Business committees, focusing on regional infrastructure needs and blue-collar economic issues.
