Ronny Lynn Jackson is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 13th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2020 serving his third term. A physician who earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1995, Jackson served as a U.S. Navy officer and served as physician to the president from 2013 to 2018 under Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, becoming nationally known during his 2018 presidential health press briefing. He was medically retired as a Rear Admiral after 24 years of service. His congressional district covers the Texas Panhandle and parts of north Texas including Amarillo and Wichita Falls. Jackson serves on the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs committees. In June 2025, the Secretary of the Navy reversed a 2022 demotion, restoring his rear admiral rank. He focuses on military readiness, veterans issues, and border security.
