Scott Franklin is a Republican U.S. Representative from Florida's 18th District, a Navy veteran and former Naval Academy graduate who served as a helicopter pilot.
Cameron Scott Franklin is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 18th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2020 and currently serving his third term representing an inland Central Florida district covering much of Polk County and parts of neighboring counties. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy in 1986, Franklin served 26 years in the Navy as a Naval Aviator flying S-3 Viking aircraft from multiple aircraft carriers, including 14 years on active duty and 12 years in the Naval Reserve. He deployed to the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, and North Atlantic, saw combat operations in the Gulf, Bosnia, and Kosovo, and was recalled to active duty after September 11th with U.S. Central Command before retiring with the rank of Commander. He later served as chief executive officer of Lanier Upshaw insurance agency and on the Lakeland City Commission. In the 119th Congress, Franklin serves on the Appropriations Committee and chairs the Science, Space and Technology Environment Subcommittee, and also serves on the Veterans' Affairs Committee, focusing on national defense, small business, and agriculture.
