Seth Magaziner is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Rhode Island's 2nd District and former Rhode Island General Treasurer focused on working-class economic issues.
Seth Magaziner represents Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2022 serving his second term representing western Rhode Island. A graduate of Brown University and Yale School of Management, Magaziner worked as an impact investor focused on sustainable investing before serving two terms as Rhode Island General Treasurer from 2014, where he managed the state's pension fund and unclaimed property program. Son of former Clinton White House adviser Ira Magaziner, he serves in the 119th Congress as Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Committee's Counterterrorism and Intelligence Subcommittee, also serving on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection, and the Natural Resources Committee. In 2025, he authored seventeen bills including measures to ban congressional stock trading, guarantee paid vacation, and expand military service benefits.
