U.S. Representative from NV, District 4

Steven Horsford is the first African American to represent Nevada in Congress and a Ways and Means Committee member who previously chaired the Congressional Black Caucus.
Steven Alexander Horsford represents Nevada's 4th Congressional District stretching from North Las Vegas through rural central Nevada. A University of Nevada graduate and former Nevada State Senate majority leader, Horsford made history as the first African American elected to Congress from Nevada. After serving one term from 2013-2015, he lost his seat and returned to win in 2018, demonstrating his political resilience. In the 119th Congress, Horsford serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, providing him influence over tax and economic policy. He previously served as the 28th chair of the Congressional Black Caucus during the 118th Congress, bringing national civil rights leadership. Though he handed off the CBC chairmanship to Representative Yvette Clarke, Horsford remains a key voice on economic development, tax equity, civil rights issues, and the nation's historic African American interests.
