Suzanne Bonamici is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Oregon's 1st District focusing on science and oceans.
Suzanne Marie Bonamici is the U.S. Representative for Oregon's 1st Congressional District, a Democrat who won a special election in 2012 and is serving her seventh full term representing northwestern Oregon including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Washington, and Columbia counties. A graduate of the University of Oregon and its law school who worked as a consumer protection attorney at the Federal Trade Commission and in private practice, Bonamici served in the Oregon House and Senate before Congress. She serves on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee as a senior member and leads the Environmental and Research and Technology subcommittees. Founder and co-chair of the Congressional STEAM Caucus, she focuses on education, oceans, and climate policy.
