Tim Kennedy is a Democrat representing New York's 26th District since 2024, a former state senator and healthcare administrator representing Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
Timothy M. Kennedy, U.S. Representative for New York's 26th Congressional District, is a Democrat who won an April 2024 special election to succeed Brian Higgins and was reelected in the November 2024 general election. A Buffalo State College and Canisius College graduate with a master's degree in healthcare administration, Kennedy worked in healthcare administration and served in the Erie County Legislature before his 2011 election to the New York State Senate, where he chaired the Transportation Committee. He represents a district covering Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and surrounding western New York communities. During his tenure in the State Senate, Kennedy secured $100 million for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Buffalo Metro Rail System. Kennedy focuses on infrastructure, U.S.-Canada border crossings and the Peace Bridge, healthcare, and manufacturing economic development.
