Todd Young is Indiana's senior Republican senator and a principal architect of the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act promoting domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
Todd Christopher Young is the senior U.S. Senator from Indiana, a Republican first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2022. A native of Indianapolis, Young graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer and intelligence officer, and later earned a law degree from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He was elected to the U.S. House in 2010 and served three terms before winning his Senate seat. In the 119th Congress, Young sits on Finance, Foreign Relations, Commerce, Health Education Labor and Pensions, and Small Business committees. He was a principal Republican author and negotiator of the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act promoting domestic semiconductor manufacturing and research. Young has also focused on workforce policy, supply-chain resilience, and U.S. competitiveness with China. During the 2020 cycle, he chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
