Tom Barrett is a Republican U.S. Representative from Michigan's 7th District, an Army Apache helicopter pilot and former state senator first elected in 2024.
Thomas Barrett is the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 7th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2024 and currently serving his first term. He represents a central Michigan district including Lansing, East Lansing, and parts of Ingham and Eaton counties. A U.S. Army veteran who flew Apache and Black Hawk helicopters including combat deployments in Iraq, Barrett continues to serve in the Michigan Army National Guard. He holds degrees from Michigan State University and Saginaw Valley State University, with a law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Veterans' Affairs Committee, chairing the Technology Modernization Subcommittee. His legislative priorities include national defense, agriculture, veterans services, and Michigan manufacturing.
