Tom Cole is a Republican U.S. Representative from Oklahoma's 4th District and chair of the House Appropriations Committee.
Thomas Jeffrey Cole is the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma's 4th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2002 serving his eleventh term representing south-central Oklahoma including Norman, Lawton, and Fort Sill. An enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation and one of the few Native Americans serving in Congress, Cole is a Grinnell College graduate with a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma who worked as a political consultant and served as Oklahoma Secretary of State. Elevated to chair of the House Appropriations Committee in April 2024, Cole is the 43rd chairman of the committee and the first Native American and first Oklahoman to hold the gavel, making him one of the most powerful House Republicans in the 119th Congress.
