Tom Emmer is a Republican U.S. Representative from Minnesota's 6th District and House Majority Whip, the third-ranking House Republican leader.
Thomas Emmer Jr. is the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2014 and currently serving his sixth term. He represents a district covering northern and western Twin Cities exurbs including St. Cloud. A Boston College graduate with a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, Emmer practiced law, played and coached hockey, and served in the Minnesota House of Representatives as the Republican nominee for governor in 2010. In the 119th Congress, he was reelected unopposed to serve as House Majority Whip, the third-ranking House Republican position. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee as vice chair of the Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee, and focuses on financial services regulation, cryptocurrency policy, agriculture, and small business.
