Wesley Bell is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Missouri's 1st District and former St. Louis County prosecuting attorney serving in the 119th Congress.
Wesley Bell is the U.S. Representative for Missouri's 1st Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2024 and serving his first term. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and its School of Law, Bell practiced criminal defense and served as a municipal prosecutor and law professor. He served on the Ferguson City Council following 2014 events and was elected St. Louis County prosecuting attorney in 2018, becoming the first African American in that role. He advanced criminal justice reform priorities including declining to prosecute low-level offenses. In Congress, Bell serves on the House Armed Services Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, focusing on criminal justice reform, gun violence prevention, and civil rights.
