Andrew Steven Biggs is the U.S. representative for Arizona's 5th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2016 serving his fifth term. A Tucson native from a large family, Biggs earned degrees from Brigham Young University, the University of Arizona Law School, and Arizona State University, practicing law and serving sixteen years in the Arizona Legislature, including as president of the Arizona State Senate. In January 2025, he was elected chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, the influential conservative caucus, reflecting his prominence in right-wing House politics. He chairs the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance and sits on Oversight, positioning him to influence criminal justice and government accountability matters.
