Executive Summary

Student Mental Health Improvement Act of 2022

This bill establishes a grant program through which the Department of Education may award grants to eligible students attending institutions of higher education to pursue careers in mental health occupations. It also allows for a refundable tax credit for qualified school-based mental health professionals.
