Executive Summary

This bill requires the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness of the Department of Defense to study and report on reforms to grace periods under the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). Among other elements, the study must include an assessment of grace periods that allow for unplanned periods of leave, temporary duty, deployments, or other periods when a member of the Armed Forces is unavailable to participate in TAP.
